Kandy Clock Tower seems to play an important part in your daily life but one thing I can not find on the web are details of the clock itself. The bells were cast by Gillett and Johnston (bellfounders) of Croydon UK in September 1950. There are five of them, four ring the quarters plus one for the hour. The details of them are:
Serial No 6913; 10 1/3″diameter; Weight 0cwt 1qr 4lbs; Note B.
6914; 11 1/2″; 0cwt 1qr 19.5lbs; A.
6915; 12 4/9″; 0cwt 1qr 23.5lbs; G.
6916; 16 1/8″ 0cwt 3qrs 25lbs; D.
6143; 17 1/2″ 1cwt 0qrs 20lbs; C.
The clock mechanism may also be by the same founders.
Verification of the above can be made by inspection.
I hope you find this of interest.
