Hi Everyone. We are getting our Christmas message out early this year as we have gone to Melbourne to spend time with some of Rob’s family. We wanted to share some of the highlights of our year in 2010.
For our second year back in Perth, we tried to pack in lots of adventures as usual. The kids are getting older as expected: Olive turned 3 in April and Jetson turned one in November. Olive has been in daycare one day a week since Jetson was born, and has grown to enjoy it. She is really looking forward to starting Kindy two days a week next year. We have been super busy with regular hospital appointments for Jetson. He has progressed so much in a year, it’s amazing. He now gets around very efficiently by bum shuffling, and has just started to stand. He manages to feed himself and is a bundle of laughs with his first word being ‘tickle’. He finally got rid of the hip harness for good this week, which we hope improves his sleeping significantly.
Rob is still working from home and loving it as he gets to spend so much time with the kids. The business is going along steadily. Clare started a ‘half a day a week’ job at the Western Australian Institute of Sport in May. She is enjoying the intellectual time plus the perks of the job like a conference in Canberra in November. We had the whole Wood family gather in Echuca in April, a rare treat to see everyone together. Our other holidays were an awesome trip to Malaysia (KL and Penang) in July, where the kids were an absolute hit with the locals, and a couple of camping trips to Dwellingup.
We are really looking forward to 2011, and have lots of adventures in store, including Rob and Jetson heading back to Melbourne in February, with Clare still contemplating her ‘girls weekend’ away with Olive, plus a two-week holiday to Japan in May for the whole family. Clare’s sister Sharon’s wedding is in March next year which will see the addition of 3 step-children into the family.
We hope you have enjoyed an exciting 2010. Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas, and enjoy many happy celebrations for the Festive Season. Good luck for the New Year, may it be filled with happy times!
Love from
Rob, Clare, Olive and Jetson
